PMI Headquarters has for years now given out awards for outstanding projects and project management performance. The PMI Chapter Austria has decided to follow the example of the Headquarter and so we are implementing a local version of this award.
The Mission of the PMI Austria Excellence Awards
The mission of the PMI Excellence Award is to create a positive incentive for large, medium and small companies to benchmark their project management skills. The showcasing of exemplary, best case projects should serve as a PM reference for companies not yet committed to PM standards and processes.
There are 2 main categories:
Category 1: Project Excellence and Innovation
Projects of the following kinds can receive this award:
- Technological innovation
- Humanitarian support
- Socially worthy initiatives
- Societal impulse
- Ecological responsibility
- Exceptional business achievements
- Longterm impact on job creation
- Strong and positive marketing of the location Austria
Dates, Time Frame:
It should have started in the last 3 Years, schedule should be understandable.
Resources, Costs:
Costs and resource planning should transparent and trackable.
Note:
The commitment for standardized project management process (according to PMBoK) should be positively considered; specially improvement in risk, quality, scope and stake holder management.
Category 2: Project Management Maturity & Development
Projects of the following kinds can receive this award:
- Efficient project management structures, processes and standards
- Project supportive IT solutions and their application
- Transparent controlling and measurement systems
- Project oriented enterprise resource management
- Project related training and education, career and incentive models for project managers and members
- Successful accomplishment of dynamic team processes
- Clear alignment of portfolios and programs to company targets and strategies
Who can apply for the award?
All companies who have implemented sucessfully outstanding projects. In case you want to submit a project from your area, please let us know under office@pmi-austria.org!
Promotion of the winner
The award winners will be promoted at all PMI Forum Events, our website and newsletters. The awards ceremony takes place every year during the annual Symposia.
